How BIM is shaping the future of integrated building delivery

Main 9 BIM and structural design blog 9 How BIM is shaping the future of integrated building delivery

PMtech Engineering envisions a future where BIM technologies are standard across every project, not an exception, but the norm. With this shift, the quality of drawings and decision-making will reach unprecedented levels, enabling projects to be delivered with remarkable precision and a significantly reduced environmental impact.

Our services span the entire project lifecycle — from initial brief and concept design through to operation and maintenance. This includes data collection, feasibility studies, detailed design and engineering, energy modelling, and optimisation of energy performance.

Our approach is grounded in comprehensive data gathering, BIM-based energy modelling, and the delivery of engineering solutions for utility systems — all aimed at improving and fine-tuning operational efficiency

Main Objectives:

• Develop design within a unified Common Data Environment (CDE) — ensuring all disciplines’ federated BIM models are coordinated, version‑controlled, and accessible through a single digital platform

• Reduce onsite error correction costs by enabling better coordination and proactive clash detection across all federated models before construction begins.

• Enable model modifications for use during construction and operation, allowing the federated model to be adapted for both on‑site sequencing and long‑term facility management using BIM data throughout the building’s lifecycle

Data Extracted from the 3D BIM Model:

• Architectural and structural data – including wall types and materials, roofing specifications, glazing details, and room types and volumes.

• Engineering systems – covering system types and equipment capacities, including ventilation, air conditioning, heating, hot water supply (HWS), and lighting systems.
